Advice Requested: Second Monitor

CLINT-DANBURY wrote on 9/15/2023, 9:03 AM

I just finished searching the forums for these two phrases...

  • Two Screens
  • Second Monitor

...and Came up empty-handed on both searches

What I'm seeking is knowledge to help me guide my expectations; hopefully before I go doing something really stupid

I have...

A computer with a second DP port, and an extra monitor laying on the floor in the other room

Are there enough smarts built into...

  1. Windows 10
  2. This Computer that I'm using [specs below]
  3. Movie Studio 18 Platinum

...to allow me to simply plug the extra monitor in, and start using both screens ?

@CLINT-DANBURY

Hi.

Trying it out won't break anything but it may struggle to work.

According the specs sheet for the processor it should be capable of supporting up to three monitors but that may be program load dependant.

In theory, a lot of programs could be spread across many screens but there becomes a point where it doesn't add extra value to work flow.

Ray.
