Adding subtitles as in this example

Hi,

In this clip:
They have been able to make the words different colours and make the background transparent grey.

The nearest I seem to be able to get to this is Title:Move:Wide Left Right Fade Out
I can't make the background change and I can only change all the text colours in one go, not individually.

Can someone advise?

Driving me nuts!!!

Thank you

Hi,

You make parts of any text title or caption a different colour like this:

I'm not sure what version of MEP you're using or which caption, but here with MEP 2014 Premium I usually make my own with a suitable background box (dark grey rectangle in this case) and use keyframes for my desired movement, copying it between text and box.

Hi,

Which version of MEP? And basic, Plus or Premium?

In the video clip, there is white (and blue) text on a black background. Except for the text colour, as Terry pointed out, and unless there is a font that has a black background, it has to be done with a caption or addition black rectangle image that is keyframed along with the text. Look at how captions are done and you will see what I mean.

Text can be animated using the presets in the manual Title dialogue or keyframed using Effects, View/Animation, Size/Position.

What is the transparent grey in the video? I did not see any.

There is a font that has transparent text on a white background, called Blackout. The background can be changed.

Can you describe in more detail exactly what you would like to have?
