Added text settings

donjen33 wrote on 7/3/2024, 1:02 AM

I'm running Magix Photostory Deluxe 2023 on Windows 11 on my HP laptop and I'm currently creating a DVD of my recent holiday. I'm now up to adding text to a number of the photos but I just can't work out how to keep the settings as I want them ... they keep reverting to Arial, 12 font etc. which I assume is the default setting. Is there any way I can alter this default to the one I'd prefer. It's such a nuisance having to change the settings each time I add new text. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Create the first text, then switch to Timeline mode if you are in Storyboard mode, select the text object then holding down the Ctrl key, drag the text object to the right, see video below, this will duplicate the text object which you can then change as required.

Rinse and repeat as required.

Thank so much John ... I've just done as you suggested and this seems to be a good solution.

How can a new title image be created instead of adding a title to an existing photo in Photostory Deluxe 2024?

@Sally-Weigand

Hi

Can you clarify what you mean please, giving an example if possible.

I want to make a title image for a photoshow but do not want to use one of the photos in it. Is there a blank "image" in the software that I can add a background and text to?

Hi

. . . . Is there a blank "image" in the software that I can add a background and text to? . . . .

There is no image 'placeholder' if that is what you mean.

In Photostory there are some background images available under Templates, Background designs, however you can use any image you want for the background

It is best to work in Timeline mode, this is easy to do using any image for the background and a Title for the text.

The timeline will look something like this, I am using one of my still images and not animating the text:

When I wanted a black background for a title, I put my phone face down on a piece of black velvet fabric & took a photo which I then saved into the photo pool I was using. I then added the text onto it & that worked perfectly.

That certainly works, however for a black background it is not necessary, by default the background colour is black, you only need to add the title (text).
