Activation Problem - Music Maker Premium and Windows 10

bossatronio7 wrote on 5/1/2016, 7:02 AM

I installed the most recent demo version of Music Maker Premium, and as I liked it, when the Trial period expired i purchased an activation code online from Magix. I entered the activation code (got a green tick) then entered my email (got a green tick, and pressed 'activate and register button. I then got a 'swirly wheel' indicating progress that stopped (hung?) after only one cycle. after waiting 20 mins, still no progress? Looked at Task manager window, and it displays Magix 'not responding' - so stopped the process. Tried a second time after restrating PC - same result. Tried uninstalling the demo, and downloading a fresh copy of Premium from the link sent with the activation code by email - tried activation etc - same result. Tried turning off antivirus - after a restart - same result. The demo ran perfectly well, and my PC is a good spec, running Windows 10, so i dont think its a hardware problem.

Any clue/tips as to what the problem might be please??

Hi

Was the Windows 10 an upgrade from 7 or 8?

If so then the upgrade process may not have completed correctly and there is a corruption in some of the Windows system files which are preventing Music Maker connecting to the Internet.

Follow this procedure to reinstall Music Maker.

Hi johnebaker,

No - this wasnt an upgrade. it is a new PC, reasonably high spec, with a brand new install of OEM Windows 10.

I have now tried everything - complete de-install of MMP lots of reboots - all antivirus and firewalls off - downloaded new copy MMP using the link they sent when sending my serial number upon purchase - and the damn thing still hangs at exectly the same point!! it's ever so frustrating when the demo ran so well. it seems that only the registration process won't run. i paste in a screen grab below to show just how far i get each time - then it will go no further.

any further help would be appreciated

thanks

Caleb
