activation for Minolta camera

Very frustrated. Purchased a Minolta MN35Z. My laptop does not have a CD player to run the image editing software. I connected the camera to the laptop and it links to MAGIX and Fasticut. I install the app and now I'm being asked to activate and register. I do not have the serial number for Fasticut, only the SN for the camera. All I want to do is import photos from my camera. It defaults to Microsoft's OneDrive, and I just want it on my PC instead of Microsoft.

Hi Dan and welcome to the Magix user to user forums.

According to your cameras manual, once you connect your camera to a computer with the supplied lead the cameras memory and memory card should show as individual drives.

That means you can copy and paste any content to a folder on your hard drive without the need for the Magix program. The Magix program according to the manual is a trial version so may have that import feature disabled.

There is no reason it has to go to One Drive.

Within Windows go to 'This PC'. There when you plug in the camera you should see it appear as a drive. Click on the drive (or drives) icons and open the folder. Copy the contents and create a new folder on your C: drive or preferably onto another connected external drive.

If you then need a video editor Windows has a basic built in one or if need be you can search for a free one on the net. You do not have to use Fastcut which I don't think is supported by Magix any more.

Ray.
