sultrysnow wrote on 12/8/2010, 4:19 PM

ok guys....I made a simple song in the MIDI editor. I didnt use my own keyboard. Then i exported it. Then when I tried to export it on to my PC I get this message "activate the corresponding track VST instruments" or something like this. I'm kinda a newb when it comes to computers (I'm old lol) so if you know the answer could to break it down like youre talking to a 9 year old (who still would understand more that i do regarding computers)..

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Uh...you have me a little confused.

When you say you "exported it" the first time, exactly what do you mean?  I ask this because you would normally export it "to your PC (computer)".  What format did you export it into?  Then, what do you mean you exported it "to your PC" the second time?

Normally, you would either export it as a MIDI file directly fron Vita "to your PC".  Otherwise, you would export the MIDI track from the arranger into an audio format (wav, mp3, etc.) "to your PC".

Sorry...I guess what I meant was that after I created the midi file I posted the song to the main editing screen. The when I click "exportas MP3/wav etc" I get the message """ MiDI objects can be found in the range.  activate the corresponding track VST instruments so that the MIDI info in the file you wish to create can be heard"

If I go ahead and export it and ignore this message Ithe song will export and open and play immediately but nothing plays!!!! I'm so confused! (thanks for taking the time :) )

OK, thanks...that makes a little more sense.

When you play the MIDI track in Vita, do you hear the default piano sound, or have you chosen one of the other virtual instruments from the menu?

When you play the MIDI track in the arranger, do you hear it play?

I generally get that message when I have the track with a MIDI object "muted".  Make sure the track with the MIDI object is not muted and, if you don't want to export any of the other tracks with it, make sure that track is marked to play "solo".

None of my tracks is muted, and when I attempt to export as a .wav I get the same error. Trying to find out exactly HOW to "Activate the corresponding Track VST instruments" has been made nearly impossible by MAGIX. THe little nag window that pops up should say HOW to activate the tracks. It should not tell you to activate the tracks without mentioning exactly how it is to be accomplished. To my thinking this is a bug in the software that should have been fixed long ago. A search on the 'net for a solution shows it is a very common problem, but unfortunately after hours of searching I have not found the simple fix I hoped for. And MM wants you to pay money to address this issue with tech support?! This is really absurd -- probably my biggest dissatisfaction with the program. I'm using MM MX premium Suite.

@GWL

Hi and welcome to the forum.

Did you notice that this topic is 8 years old and refers to an old version of the program which is significantly different from later versions?

Please create a new post and give more details on the issue you are having and the version number of the program as found under Help, About.

Assuming you have Music Maker 2021 also check against this bug list to see if the issue you are having is already listed.

This topic will be closed.
