Acoustic Mirror working incorrectly in Sound Forge 16 Pro

Hi everybody,

I switched to Sound Forge 16 Pro on Windows 10 recently after having used Sound Forge 8 on Windows 7 for ages. Can't complain too much - except Acoustic Mirror seems to have some glitches:

1. Why does Acoustic Mirror in SF 16 Pro play the .sfi impulses in double speed? This is quite obvious with impulses such as "Bridge, East Washington" from the "Bridges" folder, which creates a distinctive row of echos. The reverb is half as long, the echoes roll off in double the speed they used to in Sound Forge 8. When I let the sample play in half speed (by using pitch shift or change sample rate only) I get the reverb I used to get in Sound Forge 8. This affects .sfi impulses only - any .wav impulses still work fine in SF 16 Pro. I can provide audio examples if requested.

2. Why does Sound Forge 16 Pro crash when I click "Package impulse into preset"?

3. How I can I change to default path for loading impulses?

Thanks for your replies

AFAIK, AC Mirror is a 32 bit Direct X plug-in and some 32 bit plug-ins do not work the way they should in 64 bit SF 16.1.. This is supposed to be resolved soon, For now, try the x86 (32 bit) version of Sound Forge, They share many of the SF settings and it does not count as second activation if installed on the same PC with 64 bit Sound Forge. Both versions will coexist without issue. Unfortunately, 64 bit plug-ins will not run on 32 bit SF so running both 64 and 32 bit plug-ins is not currently possible is some cases.

I have not used AC Mirror in a long-long time and forgot the basics of the set-up except the impulses must be loaded.

Thanks! I'll install the 32 bit version!

Ok, just a short feedback: the 32 bit version doesn't solve the problem either, it plays sfi impulses in double speed too. Thanks for your efforts still

@Armes-Schwein, contact Magix Tech Support, though it may be temporarily off-line due an upcoming web support re-design.
I will attempt to duplicate the AC Mirror behavior to confirm your findings.

Addendum, "Customers can create tickets until Wednesday (12 October) 8am (CEST) as usual. Afterwards, it won't be possible. On Thursday (13 October) from 9am to 3pm (CEST) - planned - magix.info won't be available partially."

UPDATE: I cannot duplicate the behavior on SFP-16,1.2, bld. 55, I do not have the time or desire to test each impulse though. Are there specific impulses that behave abnormally?

I haven't tested every single one, I checked a bunch of them randomly - as far as I could see the pattern is simply all of the sfi impulses behave the same way, wav impulses work fine. I'd recommend checking those with long decay times first, such as Bridge East Washington, Train Tunnel 400, Capitol wing centre 200... I can send a number of samples this weekend

Those impulses sound ok on my system. Where are your impulse folders located? I am not sure that it matters though. The default is:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SOUND FORGE Shared Plug-Ins\Pro\Audio_x64
