ACID version 11 error None of the files dropped on ACID could be...

I recently upgraded from an older version of ACID to version 11; however, whenever I try to import files I now get this error;

"None of the files dropped on ACID could be opened".
The files are MP3 format & I did not have this issue with the previous version I had. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Acid Pro 10 or above (you wrote version 11), does not have MP3 codec. Or at least certain resolution will not open. I found out after paying as well.

After I posted the above I find a workaround and converted the MP3s to WAV; however, midway through the project I was working on the MP3 I would drag and drop started working. Even files I would get the error for earlier.

Yes, but so far, Acid Pro is still untable when it comes to handling MP3s. In my case, no resolution or format will work that has anything to do with WMA or MP3. I got tired of converting them in Wavelab to use in Acid so I am back on another DAW. Acid is back in it's box.

@Former user - can you try download autoruns from Microsoft Sysinternals (https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/), and run it. Autoruns shows all executables that run at startup, including codec support. It's possible you have installed something that is replacing MP3 support at the OS level that is not compatible with Acid Pro.

When it has run take a look at the Codecs tab, and see if there is anything listed that you may have downloaded in the past. It is possible to untick an entry, reboot and try MP3 support in acid again.

If doing so doesn't fix the issue, or breaks something else simply go back in to autoruns and re-tick the entry you previously disabled.

(note, there's a lot of entries in autoruns in general, don't go crazy disabling things if you don't know what they are, as that's a great way to totally break windows! :) If you're unsure you can either paste a screen shot of the codec tab, or send me a private message and I can tell you if anything looks out-of-place.
