acid pro update 10.0.5

Tinus72 wrote on 3/29/2021, 4:12 PM

Hi, just tried to update to 10.0.5, got and error installing c++ 2013 redist x64, i had c++ 2013 redist x64 already installed (bug?), removed it, started acid update again, this time no c++ install error, update completed successful, acid started fine, lets see if there are improvements.

Im just sharing my workaround to update to 10.0.5, in case anyone else is seeing this behaviour, cheers

Any news about the changelogs?

if you open Acid and see the update prompt there's a link on that window to open the changelog. So, you've missed it. I updated the FAQ on this forum to include the changelog though, so you can check it out :)

I had the same problem and this worked! However, after I upgraded, some of my plugins were messed up! Really frustrated now and I may have to rework several of my finished tracks...

Sorry to hear, I did not have issues with my plugins / projects

I think most of the plugins on my tracks are intact, but the performance of some of them isn't as good after the update. It's harder to "undo" some of the Izotope ones, and I've had some small issues with one of the Waves ones cutting out randomly. Hopefully the updates are worth it in the end...

Same situation, thanks for sharing the workaround - definitely will try it. I was hoping to find the update file location and run it as Administrator since that would probably solve the issue.

Come on, Magix! Please test your releases before you push them! Dev, alpha, beta channels...So many different ways how you can validate and avoid this kind of embarrassing situation. I bet there's a bunch of us willing to bite the bullet with beta testing just to get the better product and justify our investment and loyalty.

There's a definite issue with plugin chains. If I put my Izotope Neutron 3 plugin on my bass (for instance), get it set the way I want, then put a standard (Acidpro) parametric eq on the plugin chain, it deletes (refreshes) the Neutron plugin settings. This NEVER happened with the previous Acid 10. WTF?

Nice work!

  • New: ACID Store is now available
  • Features, instruments and ACID loops are available in the ACID Store

Are you planning on adding soundpools to the items available in the store? The diatonic transposition that you can get through soundpools (instead of the chromatic pitch shift in ACID) is a pretty neat feature and it would be great if soundpools could be available through the store interface, and if the vouchers that are given as part of the ACID Pro promotions could be used for purchasing soundpools.

Also - is 10.0.5 the "ACID 10.5 out now" advertised in the Magix page https://www.magix.com/us/music/acid/acid-pro/ ?

Identical C++ error. [ error installing c++ 2013 redist x64 ]

Same workaround (deleted the file, then Acid 10 installed).

A user should NEVER have to manually delete a system level file in order for an installation to work.
