Can I still use my sony acid pro 4.0 cd's? I installed them on my old laptop, but just purchased a new laptop & had to buy an external hard drive, but when I tried to download the set up CD it said I didn't have an app to open the software. I spent over $400 on these cd's years back & I only use them to edit maybe 40 songs a year. I know exactly how to use the software efficiently. What can I do?

@nikki-bNikki Do you still have your old laptop? Just use it for old this old software. It should work fine. I have old Windows 98 and Windows XP computers just for some softwares that don't run on modern systems.

Alternatively you could try to install a Windows XP virtual machine with VMware or Virtualbox and try to run ACID 4 inside the virtual machine. But it's possible that you can get audio problems because the audio hardware is just rudimentary implemented.

As @SP. mentioned just stick with the old laptop.

Or if you can shell out $79, you can upgrade to version 10. The old sample CDs will work anywhere. Or the other cheaper option would be upgrading to Music Studio. It is a bit of watered down version of Pro. Music studio is for about $30 bucks sale at the moment.
