Acid Pro 10 Works Fine For About 10 Minutes Then Audio Goes Silent

Does anyone else have this problem? When I'm working on a project in Acid Pro 10, about 10 or 15 minutes in, the audio goes silent - even when it's paying and shows audio is playing on the meters. I have to close the project and re-open it... then everything is fine again for a while 'til this happens again. Anyone know what's up with this?

Update: I switched audio interfaces and Acid Pro 10 has been running a little smoother. I got rid of my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 Gen 1 and repaced it with the Audient ID4. The Audient sounds a little better and the driver seems more reliable. AcidPro 10 is more consistent (though not perfect) and buffering issues have gotten better. If you are having issues like this, it could be issues with an older audio interface.

best thing you could do with ACID PRO 10 is just uninstall it. I have yet to have a good stretch of using ACID PRO 10.

horrible product. buggy as heck and frustrating because of all the issues. the last update basically destroyed my projects. I had to rebuild my vst libraries. didnt save any information from teh projects. so I have to try to remember the vst used and the tweeks made. most of the vst's no longer work, ACID is always crashing. and I have had the same audio issue.

IM DONE WITH ACID, Ill just have to learn a new DAW. I probably could have learned to use another vst by now, if if I didnt waste my time with ACid working properly.

Yes, the vst issue is ridiculous. When I switched to my new Windows 10 computer, I lost half of my plugins and only some of them worked. Luckily, the Izotope ones worked, but the situation sucked. My problem is that I'm too lazy to learn another DAW. I tried Reaper, and it was decent, but I'm just to slow at learning new software. Acid 10 has been working OK for now. Starting new projects and working on them when using the Audient iD4 interface... I haven't had any major issues. Acid 10 is a total disaster when I try to open older Acid 7 projects though. It's too bad 'cause with a little tweaking Acid could be amazing.

@Eric-Penington

Hi

. . . . I got rid of my Focusrite Scarlet 2i2 Gen 1 and repaced it with the Audient ID4. . . .

That would suggest you have hit a recurrent and intermittent problem with the gen 1 version of the Focusrite audio interface having issues with modern PC's - ie plugging the device into a USB 3 socket does not always work reliably, the older audio interfaces work better in a USB 2 port.

I tried the Focusrite Scarlet in a USB 2 and 3 and did experience more issues when it was plugged into the USB 3. However, the Scarlet had buffering issues in Acid Pro 10 that the iD4 did not. With the iD4 (for some reason) Acid 10 works a bit better and crashes much less - and the sound is slightly better.
