Acid Pro 10 Suite

Jason-Jennings wrote on 4/26/2020, 12:52 PM

Is there anyway I can download load either Acid Pro 10 Suite or Acid Pro 10 in a trial version before I purchase? Reason I ask Is I want to make sure this will sync and load all my plugins before I purchase. I have been with Magix since the 90's, my first Daw was MS6. I then switched to Acid Pro 6.0 to Acid Pro 7 to Acid Pro 8, have also purchased Sound Forge in the past. With Acid Pro 7 and Acid Pro 8, everything ran great on my older Windows 7 64 bit desktop. Since switching to Windows 10 and a more powerful desktop, I have had nothing but problems with Acid Pro 8 not loading plugins etc, I am trying to avoid purchasing a Jbridge for Acid Pro 8 and would prefer to test Acid Pro 10 before it commit and purchase.

Any help or feedback would be appreciated..

Thanks for reaching out. Have been so frustrated trying to convert everything over to a new Windows 10 system I am on the verge of saying to heck with it and just using my old computer with Acid Pro 8. Biggest issue I am having is the VST's and synth's won't show up or load properly in Acid Pro 8 on Windows 10. I have scanned the folders and just can't seem to get things to load properly. I did uninstall Acid Pro 8 and reinstalled the 8 using the 32bit version and was able to get some things to load including the Synths and software.

Again, my biggest problem is I do not want to purchase Acid Pro 10 if it will not do what I need it to do. Very hopeful with Acid Pro 10's integrated Jbridge feature that it will solve all my problems and I stick with Acid Pro. If not, after many years of being loyal, I am gone, just hate to have to learn a new Daw but oh well it is what it is...

So I downloaded the trial version of Acid 10 Pro Suite and still no luck loading my 32 bit vst's. I was under the impression that Acid 10 had integrated a bridge support, guess not. I even installed my JBridge to get some of my old plug in's to work and no luck. I scanned folders with the vst can multiple times uninstalled the program reinstalled and still no luck, I just can't understand. I cleared User/User/APP and all that. I am going to look at a few other Daw's.

Same here. Acid Pro 10 and no 32 bit plugins. However, during installation, there is an option to install either 32 bit version of the DAW or 64 Bit. But I didnt find anywhere on the forums what difference it would make. I mean since bridge support is integrated, why would it be in 32 bit version of the DAW? I didn't try installing 32 bit version. Too much work. So I just sketch out a mix in Acid but later export stems into another DAW.

AP10 (any version of AP) is not very instinctive. You have to go into the 'Plugin Manager' and point it in the right direction for 32bit and or most 3rd party VST plugins. Cheers

Well I have pointed this in every direction you can and it just don't not scan. Acid 10 was supposed to have a integrated feature to convert 32bit into 64, at least that is what is advertised. Is there a button or setting inside the Daw you have to activate to get this to work?

As for plugin in directory, I know where all my files are located, I have went through my computer with a fine comb. As matter of fact, I just deleted everything on my pc from ground and am going to freshly install every 32 bit and 64 bit vst's and then re install Acid Pro once again. To be honest, I should say **********and throw it in the trash and move on all together, too much time and effort just to get things to work, not like I am trying to use hack plugins and all that. With that being said, I am loyal to Acid just seems it is not loyal back. Of course I could load up Acid Pro 7 and Acid Pro 8 on my old computer and bounce each track on each song into a new Daw and just move on but why should I have to do that when I have been with Magix since the 90's?

Bottomline, fix this **** or sell Sony Acid to a Developer who can make this thing right....

I don't think Acid 10 is available in 64 bit but I may be wrong...

I'm afraid you are! This page actually shows it is available as 64 bit only.

Well I do apologize for the frustration, I have spent hours the past few days trying to get Acid Pro 8 and Acid Pro 10 trial version trying to get my 32bit plugins to scan and convert. Any advice would be appreciated. I have tried to submit a ticket to Magix but the website is all over the board I am not even sure where I can submit a ticket. I have tried Jbridge I have cleared cache etc., no luck in getting my Windows 10 system to read and convert my 32 bit plugins. Again I was under the assumption that Acid Pro 10 have a integrated converter built in as well as the final build in Acid Pro 8. At the end of the day I just want to get back to making music but have spent the vast majority of the past week trying to get my system ready to go.

To someone up there about pointing the plugin directory and such. All of that has been tried multiple times, it doesn't work. Acid Pro 64 bit even fails the jbridge scan and I have the paid version. It just doesn't work. Acid only uses the plugins it wants to use. So i just gave up on that. My workflow is fast on Acid so I start up projects on it but eventually move on to another DAW with stems after Acid starts to crash or freeze when project gets complex or if my eyes start to get tired with the new GUI themes (both light and dark) I am tired of asking for the original theme Acid always had. I could work on it for hours.

Yes, I am the idiot who owns EVERY daw on the planet and in full version. I wish I someone had smacked some sense into me back when Sony ruined Acid and I thought this is it and I moved to Ableton. Went from ableton all the way to Fl studio. nothing matched the pick and paint strength of Acid. Now I am back on it after shelling out another 3-400 bucks. arrrghh.

Brother I feel your pain. Unfortunately, I just can't get away from Acid Pro, I just ordered and upgraded to Acid Pro 10 today, am I crazy? I do not own any other Daw's, I am loyal die hard all in with Acid Pro. It is kind of crazy because when people ask me what I use and I tell them ACID, most roll there eyes and look at me like I am crazy. For me I stick with Acid because I know it like the back of my hand, time is money and I do not have time to study or re learn a new Daw nor do I have the desire, I just want Acid to work as it was intended.

With that being said, I purchased Jbridge today and somehow(don't ask me how) I actually was able to get my 32 bit plugins to load. I tried step by step and watched JBRIDGE tutorials and everyone always said do not point the VST scan at the Program 86 files where the original 32 bits .dll are located. After trying everything possible the past few day including clearing cache all roaming files etc., i figured what the heck and point the scanner at the original 32 bit plugins in c/86 and in the new JBRIDGE folder i created for the plugins converted to the .64's. It scanned converted and loaded most everything up. My last task to conquer is to get the old IZOTOPE plugins i had from Acid Pro 7 and Sound Forge, the mastering bundle and the effects plugins. For some reason the Izotope plugins just will not load, am also missing Sony Noise Reduction 2 plugin that wont load in Acid Pro 8 or 10..

Anyways, i have had a come to Jesus talk with myself and i can't keep doing this for days trying to figure it out, i am just going to cut bait with some of the old plugins and look to purchase or get new replacements and move on, i am ready to get to work and some sleep at the same time, been racking my brain for days on this.

I did send in a ticket today and hope someone will look into this and see if this is a ongoing problem and maybe offer me some guidance or a fix to getting all .32 bit plug in's to load. If not, perhaps it is by design, i assume developers would rather you go out and buy new and forget about the old....
