Hi, I deleted it and re-installed it but it's still not working. Then I tried Acid Pro 9, which I still have installed, and that does not record either.

Are you using an interface? Meaning you are not just using Windows Audio. If so, when you choose to record an audio track, do you see signal coming in when you speak into the mic? If not, you gotta choose the right input first.
