Acid Pro 10.0.4 Will NOT open from a saved project, it shuts down

When I open Acid Pro 10 64x from the Windows 10 program menu it opens fine. However, I am not able to open a saved project file as it gives this error message and closes the program.

ACID ProVersion 10.0.4 (Build 29) 64-bit Exception 0xC0000005 (access violation) READ:0x0000000100000102 IP:0x0000000008963C1D In Module 'sfvstwrap.dll' at Address 0x0000000008760000 + 0x0000000000203C1D Thread: GUI ID=0x31DC Stack=

I paid good money for the product and I am not satisfied. I should not have to assume the role of troubleshooting expert on a brand new PC with a newly installed Acid Pro 10 product. There are countless messages of the same problem with no proper solutions.

this is a known issue with AP10.

here's a work around: right click, 'Run as Administrator' ...click on the 'Open Folder' and open your project from there.

Cheers

This is well know bug that will never be fixed. It has to do with the time it takes to load a large project with lots of plugins to load. Its a timing issue where if you load the project by double clicking the project file it try's to load or scan all the plugins in a certain amount of time before the ACID software gets loaded. It blows up on the ACID initialization process while loading the software while scanning the plugins. It probably has to do with the new code the programmers added to run the VST loader concurrently (asynchronous) while loading the ACID software. If you load the ACID software first then open your project after ACID loads first it won't blow up.
