acid 8 pro install error 2147163967

Hi,

when trying to install acid pro 8 on Windows 7 32 bit (installed to a parallels 15 virtual machine on my MacBook Pro), the visual c++ part fails with error -2147163967. Does anyone have any idea as to what might be causing this and how to fix it? I’ve tried uninstalling visual c++ but to no avail.

thanks

Alex

Just followed your post, hoping to see a solution. I have the same error message when installing Acid Pro 8, but mine is on a Windows 10 Pro 32-bit system. Have you tried sending in a request to technical support? I have and they've given some suggestions, but none have worked so far, but still being hopeful.

All the best with finding a solution.

Hey, not sure if you've seen my post which can be found here.

Just a heads up, found a solution for my issue which is identical to yours besides the exact OS version. You could try downloading/installing previous versions of AP8 and see if that works for you. I may not have the latest version installed, but I do have a working version of AP8 installed and I guess that's an okay workaround for now.

All the best.

Hi! Tech support have said it’s a known problem, a fix is expected at the end of the year... I’ve switched to 64 bit and it installs ok in that. Not an ideal situation but I had a spare installation to try it.

kindest regards

Hey Alex, I have just updated my post where I finally received a solution to bypass the VC++ Redistributable installation process and I was able to install Acid Pro 8.0.8 Build 29 on my Windows 10 Pro 32-bit system. I thought I'd share this in case you were going back to the 32-bit environment as you mentioned your switch to 64-bit wasn't an ideal situation. All the best.

TastyTaroChips, you helped yourself, but no one else, with your answer. How did you "bypass the VC++ Redistributable installation process"? There's no option to bypass it on the installation of Vegas. HOW did you do it? Can you help others suffering the same problem?
