I'm not completely sure from your description, but do you mean that you're trying to perform a DV capture or an analog recording in Movie Edit Pro and you're getting a functional preview in the respective recording window, but as soon as you trigger the actual recording process, the program crashes?

If this is an analog recording, you might want to try and update the drivers of your capture hardware. Maybe the device is just not really compatible, but a driver update might help. Generally, with a problem like this, it's probably a good idea to check whether Magix technical support can help you.
