Sorry, I'm afraid it's not completely clear what you're asking for here, and what you mean by "digital copy". If this is a question about the licensing terms and whether or not you can install the software on a second computer, the answer is: Yes, MAGIX generally allows you to have the software (with one license) on two concurrent systems at the same time, as long as they are only being used by yourself. Version 14 of SMS is pretty old, and would have featured a "P" serial number. There wouldn't even have been any kind of techncial restriction on the number of installations. If this is actually about version 2014, that would have featured a "P2" serial number. That generation would have simply been counting the number of activations, blocking further ones after three activations, and resetting each slot again after one year. If that's the version you're using, and you have bumped into a problem with that preliminary activation limit, please contact MAGIX customer service to help out:
Newer versions (with "P3" serial numbers) allow you to dynamically manage the use of your (two) licensing slots via the program and/or your account on the MAGIX website.
The usual solution to this is to copy the contents of the installer CD to a suitable pendrive on the computer which has a CD drive and then insert the pen to the computer without the CD drive, copy the install files to a folder somewhere on this drive (the desktop is fine) and then run the installer from this folder.
Sorry, but with version 14 you might really be out of luck. :-( That's still a completely different generation when it comes to the MAGIX product copy-protection and serialisation. It predates the "P2/P3" generation download installers that can replace any current disc version and will respond to the same serial number. So, downloading is not an option.
Jeff's solution would be a start, but here's the catch: That version of Samplitude Music Studio still uses the old on-disc hardware copy-protection (in addition to the early "P" generation serial number). So, the software won't start up properly without being able to locate the original program disc in the optical drive.
Last but not least, please keep in mind that version 14 possibly woudn't be compatible with your current system anyway. You could get that version to work under Windows 7, but Windows 8/8.1 or 10 would be out anyway. So, just for that reason alone, you might want to consider the current version of SMS, which is available as a download.
