Never had this sort of disaster happen to me, but...

If you have set MEP to create regular "saves" of the project you MIGHT be able to recover an earlier version.  Look in the folder where you store your "Project" files for the particular project of the name you used, with _BAK as the extension,  Try to open the project from the latest (in time) of these.  If that fails try the next oldest, and so on.

As I said you might be lucky and at least one of these back-ups could restore an earlier version.
