John EB, I have a follow-up question. The download to the tablet does not appear to support mp3 files. The tablet is a Microsoft Surface Go 3, 4GB RAM, 64 MB SSD. I suppose I could work around this by saving new files as Sound Forge Audio Project files and emailing them to my laptop, but I would like to open old mp3 files on the tablet. Any suggestions?
@bill-n Is there a mp3plug2.dll file in your SoundForge\FileIO Plug-Ins\mp3plug2 folder? If yes, then it should work. Be sure you have the newest version installed via the Help > Check for updates menu. If you have the newest version, reset the program settings under the File > Reset all preferences and cached data menu.
If this doesn't help then something is blocking your SoundForge from accessing the DLL file. For example, this could be Windows Defender or another firewall on your system. You can try and run SoundForge as Administrator with a right mouse click on the program icon or temporarily disable Windows Defender,
