Hi

You can change the resolution in Movie Edit Pro to match the video in the projects settings and the export dialogs as shown below

franco33,

Quick test and I'd say yes!

  • In MEP 2016 Premium, I just exported a short mp4 clip at 2304x1296 with no problem. The export dialog suggested several presets but has fields for entering your own dimensions. [The original was 1920 x 1080]
  • Windows Explorer gave the correct dimensions in the properties tab.
  • Windows media player displayed the export -- albeit only at the max resolution of my monitor!
  • MEP was happy to reload it for further editing.

The only thing I'd worry about is if your 2304 x 1296 original is of a file type that requires a special codec.

How? You can download free trial versions of most MAGIX programs. Editing is 'non-destructive' -- you won't damage your originals. The critical item is setting the export dimensions, but they may default to your import anyway.

Regards,

Carl

thank you guys, you have been very helpful.

I have tried to do as you suggested, however when I create the video there are many noise/grain problems: at some points the video will block, or the pixels are abnormally big, then for a couple of seconds it may be ok again, then big pixels blocks again etc...

I have tried with different videos but the outcome is always the same if I produce the video at 2304 x 1296 (as the originary source). But if I produce at 1980 x 1080, then no problems, the video is just fine. How come?

I tried to change some settings (e.g. maximum GOP to 300, structure to 'auto', etc..) but no improvement.

Any suggestions/idea?

thanks
