Hi

. . . . When I import and play back a midi file . . . .

Was this created in MMM 2014 or is it from another source?

Have you tried the Timestretch option to adjust the tempo - right click the midi object to get the popup dialog as shown below

Thanks for the response......A little history, I was successfully using 2014 Music Maker until I upgraded to 2016 Music Maker....

My whole purpose is

1)   Import a midi file in track one, then hit  "Record"(Red Circle) and record the midi file as it plays.....

2) Then I export the Audio as a mp3..

This has worked flawlessly the last two years.  Now when I do the same procedure with 2016 Music Maker , the tempo is a lot slower as I record the Audio....

If I just play back the midi file without record, it is perfect..

Please advise

Ron

Hope this works.....This is an old CCR Tune......When I play back the midi file, the tempo is good, but when I record, this is what I get... the tempo is set at 120 bpm but it sure isn't playing at 120bpm... YIKES !!!

Hi Ron

Is this a 'continuation' of your question  re importing MIDI files from the Yamaha psr2000 and you are now at the next step of wanting to export as mp3 ?

If so then select File, Export, Audio as MP3 and export the project directly to mp3 format. There is no need to record the audio as it is playing then export the audio.

When I bring in my midi file, I use my PSR-2000 as a sound source..... Is this not the right way ? The software should be recording the audio outs of my keyboard.

Keyboard is hooked up to a mixer. I have been doing this for two years, and quite successfully

Please advise

Hi Ron

. . . . When I bring in my midi file, I use my PSR-2000 as a sound source.....

Apologies for the confusion - I think we are talking at cross purposes here - MIDI files and audio files are two different things.

MIDI files are a sequence of instructions that tell a Synthesiser or keyboard, such as yours, which instruments, notes, for how long, etc  to play and do not contain any audio.

From the statement 'When I import and play back a midi file'  I assumed you were loading a MIDI file into Music Maker.

From your last post - am I correct in saying you are loading a MIDI file into the PSR-2000 or playing it and recording the audio using Music Maker?

. . . . Is this not the right way ? The software should be recording the audio outs of my keyboard. . . . . Keyboard is hooked up to a mixer . . .

For recording the audio out of the keyboard this way is correct.

Back to your original question - the tempo shows 120 but its playing around 80.

Assuming you are recording using Music Maker - is this immediately after recording and you playback the recording back or after having saved the audio file and importing again into Music Maker?
