I note some possibly important changes in the Program Settings > Playback section:

Those cache settings have proved valuable in reducing jerky playback for certain file types. Has that flexibilty now been lost?

Possibly Terry but I have not seen any benefit from changing that setting in the last 3 versions. It used to make a difference in MEP16.

I had a look at his late last night - after losing half of a complicated dual camera edit .
As far as I can see the whole process of selecting the best option has been automated. Like you Peter I never made any use of the settings in MX and previous versions.
