Thanks for your suggestions rraud. That got me thinking more about all the nitty-gritty details. Rebooting did not help. What DID help was to look at the Options->Preferences->Audio and change the output/playback from ASIO Low-Latency driver

@Lars-Kristoffersen Yeah, I believe this simply shows up, if the audio driver gets enabled. Go into the program preferences. There you can select the audio driver. Usually, you want to select an ASIO driver, for example the Magix Low Latency driver.

Hi @CaseyJ, try resetting Sound Forge. 'File> "Reset all preferences and clear cached data".. If you can not open Sound Forge to access the 'File' menu, hold down the 'Ctrl+Shift' keys whilst launching SF, which should open the reset/clear cache
