RE: Can SF 7 be uninstalled and reinstalled?
UPDATE: I took the plunge and uninstalled and reinstalled SF-7 from my archives. Installation OK and the program works. But MP3 rendering is still blocked. I don't think I can fix it. Solution as proposed at the beginning: edit with SF and render

SF 7.0 now wants me to register for mp3
I have used SF 7 for years because its best for close editing (I am a podcaster and radio journalist). Suddenly now, when I want to save a file as an MP3, I am told that my MP3 limit has been reached, and I have to register. I tried, but the online

RE: Can SF 7 be uninstalled and reinstalled?
You might try the 'reset/clear cache' procedure, which has resolved MP3 issues before... I am not sure about SF-7 though. Magix versions of SF has the 'Reset' tool in the 'File' menu, but Sonic Foundry and Sony versions do not. It can be done though

[Solved] Exporting a song freezes MM
When I try to export a song in Music Maker (e.g.: *.mp3) the module for normalisation keeps stopping at 8%. MM then freezes and can only be stopped via the task manager. When I choose not to normalise the same thing happens while mixing down (also

@bzan Export as WAV and use another tool, for example the free XMedia Recode. Years ago you had to pay license fees to use the Fraunhofer MP3 encoder, so for each activation Sony had to pay a fee. This is the way these old softwares had to be

RE: SF 7.0 now wants me to register for mp3
@bzan If you remember your old Sony customer account e-mail address and password, you should be able to login at Magix.com and download an installer from your Magix customer account. I believe Magix updated those to be able to contact the Magix

rraud, thanks for getting back. I bought SF-5 in 2004. It came with an installation disc that asked for the SN, which was included. I *think* I registered that online as well with no problem. Not sure anymore. Some time later, I contacted Sony

I "still" don't understand. Why are you exporting stills from VDub? If you export them (or otherwsie process them in a 3rd party program) at the display frame size of your Magix movie setting, you will not have a problem. For example, if your movie

I will want to have a 4:3 export, but the pixel aspect ratio is 3:2, while the target aspect is 4:3 these are independent quantities. So when a DVD is created the pixel aspect is 3:2 names 720:480, but the display aspect metadata is 4:3, so the

RE: The output formats are messed up in Movie Studio 2024
As I said the original movie had been badly mangled as to aspect by being transferred from one medium to another, so I masked off the R & L edges. I will either mask the top and bottom edges and possibly increase the size of the final version.

The movie is "The Leathernecks have landed" and the frame should be 4:3. Yes the sidebars are burned in. The original had been transferred to digital from an unknown source, possibly a 16mm movie, but could have been captured from a TV broadcast. It

@SP. and @browj2 - Many thanks for your replies. I do indeed get the 101 error. I tried using the 32-bit version instead, but then when running Auto Cleaning and some other functions I received new error messages that I suspect were memory related.
