MM V28 upgrade Soundpool loops and Timestretch function issues

robert-cacciatore wrote on 7/5/2019, 1:26 PM

In V28 Soundpool loops refuse to drag onto the intended track
In V28 the TimeStretch/Pitchshift Window will not appear in full screen edit mode and also randomly won't appear in the standard multi-window project mode.
Did not have these issues prior to the upgrade. My system is outlined in my sig file.

I have also experienced the soundpool issue - it's very annoying. Not quite sure why they have changed this.

I have not experienced the second issue yet - guess I have that to look forward to.

TimeStretch/PitchShift (SHIFT P) not functioning?
Workaround: Try F3 (Function 3) to toggle the Control Window open/close

Hi Robert,

As far as the drag & drop for soundpool loops with a higher number of tracks (and the view within Music Maker being positioned accordingly) being somewhat awkward and making it hard to target the right track is concerned, I believe I'm reasonably clear on what you're referring to, based on this and your other post. This is about the view jumping back to the upper tracks (with the smaller track numbers) as soon as you drag the loops into the actual arranger area, correct? If so, consider this reported to development.

Regarding the timestretch & pitchshift function, I'm not completely sure we're on the same page here. Maybe this is a misunderstanding regarding the GUI concept. Please keep in mind that this functionality is no longer implemented as a separate dialogue window that opens on top of the main GUI. It is embedded in the "Inspector" view within the Control Tab in the lower part of the screen. If you make this part invisible on purpose, e.g. by maximising the arranger part, there's nowhere this functionality could still show up. Beyond that, I couldn't replicate any problem with this yet. I'll keep my eyes on the situation.

I do hope that, outside of these issues, you found this new version to be an improvement when it comes to the handling of your MIDI workflows. If you have any more tangible issues with those, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us via support. This version is still going to see a lot of development work and further updates with bug fixes and improvements during the next few months. I'd be happy to enter your feedback into this process.

Cheers!

Thanks #ralftaro

I now realize the GUI concept and that TimeStretch/PitchShift is part of the "Inspector" view in the Control Tab, thus toggling F3 (Function 3) usually resolves my issue. However, often when implementing the TimeStretch function (Shift P) I get a blank window with no controls. This error usually happens early (i.e. the first time I try to TimeStretch) in a project, however I have had it recur. Regarding the MIDI - BRAVO!! it's working well. I'll post more as I experience the new version more. Overall as I've said before Magix Music Maker is IMO the most creative crossover production tool incorporating real (high quality audio) Loops and MIDI with a very healthy third party host of VST tools. When this program hits the 64bit level, gives owners of Soundpools the more affordable ability to upgrade to a Commercial Use License (rather than repurchase) and allows for MIDI tempo mapping... Can't get any better. Thanks again.

Hello,

Re: "This is about the view jumping back to the upper tracks (with the smaller track numbers) as soon as you drag the loops into the actual arranger area, correct? If so, consider this reported to development." - has this been fixed yet?

I'm hesitant to upgrade this annoying issue has been resolved.

Thanks in advance,

Per

#pernas The wrong track chosen when adding loops has not been fixed. I believe the 'work around' is to make track 2 the "work" track... but that's not always a workable solution. Hey MAGIX? WhatUp?

Two months later and the view is still jumping back to the upper tracks quite often and not like the previous version where it never happens...what's going on here? (downgraded to the previous version of MMM because it was too annoying for now)...

Hi Per,

Sorry, this problem doesn't currently have the development priority that I personally would like it to have. I'll keep bugging our devs. Please hang in there.

Cheers!

Hi!

Ok, that's sad - especially since the new "Loops Unlimited" requires the newest version of MMM one could really hope for some swift fixes to make MMM as it was before regarding this matter.

Hello again!

Now activated the loops unlimited but the very annoying track jumping issue is still present!!!

Could this be prioritized please!

@Pernas

By "track jumping" I presume that you mean track height. Press on Tab.

No not that. It seems the track view keeps jumping to the top.

Hi

Version 28.0.2.45, and now 28.0.2.47 after updating, works fine for me - no track jumping. Check if you are on either of these patches
