Hi, welcome to the Magix forums.

I think the only solution to the problem of installing disc-supplied software on a computer which lacks a disc drive is to find a (possibly old) computer which does include such a drive and copy ALL the files from the disc to a memory stick. Then transfer that memory stick to your new computer and copy ALL those files to a dedicated folder, e.g. on the desktop, and then run the installer from that folder.

Hi again.

i did and it asks me to insert the disc

So, the installer seems to be seeking some kind of code on the actual disc. In which case I think your only option now is to bite the bullet and buy an external USB DVD (re)writer and use that. Such drives are pretty cheap to buy now.

(My apologies, I should really have thought of this option for you and mentioned it in my previous post.)

You may also use a virtual disc drive.

If you on the old computer with the disc drive save the content of the drive as a (single pr disc) ISO file and then copy this to the new computer and Mount this file as a disc drive. You may need a third party SW for emulating the disc drive, but it also may be included in the OS.

The ISO file is like a zip or cab file that contains all the files (being a Image of the disc).

The old pre-Sony (and pre-Magix) SF installation discs where like that and there was no easy work-around without a disc and drive. (I tried this recently with SF 4.5) Now-a-days though with Win 10 a virtual drive is a relatively easy procedure, of course the OP still needs the get the data off the disc. I'm also not sure if 'joao-f ' has is actual AS software (a version that can be downloaded) or a version that Sony hacked for this particular product. All the 'Vegas' products I'm aware of, still need a serial number except the trial demos. As co-moderator Jeff stated the least painless approach is probably just getting a disc drive.

Did you ever get your question answered? I got Sound Forge Audio Studio 9 with the same Sony turntable. When you first install it, you can choose 'Register Online', 'Register on Another Computer' or 'Register Later'. I believe you have about a month to actually register the software. If you select 'Register Later', you can open the program, go to 'Help', 'About; and get your serial number. I went ahead and got SF Pro 12 and I still haven't registered the SW that came with the turntable. I think I will register it anyway. I'm not sure what happens if I select 'Register on Another Computer'. I'm thinking, you will run out of time, and then have to install it on another PC.
