Hi Good Folks:

Here are some vintage photos from a Harlem of a much earlier period.  I thought that these images would best be presented with my arrangement of a Gospel tune, "Ray's Mood", by, Miles Black.

Thanks for listening...

Griff

Hey Griff

What a cool way to present  those vintage pix and also to highlight the song.  The song is great. The pix are great.   I hope you put this in the video section too.  The Reader's Digest condensed version of American history

I do not know your political leanings (at the moment, there is not much to lean against, if you get my drift) but on the Rachel Maddow Show last night, I learned that it is the 50th anniversary of the death of 3 kids who took it upon themselves to go to the South in order to assist blacks in getting registered to vote, so they could make a difference in the political arena.  Of couse the 3 kids were part of a much larger group. I and many others consider them heros but the vandalism that was done to the young man, Chaney's (first name   is enough to turn the stomachs of most descent folks. That is my take on the story (and I'm stickin' sith it!)  Chaney is, of course no relation to the " #@&*%" who was VP. Spelled differently anyway.
I'm sure you know more about that story than I do.

Loved what you just presented  and I hope others do as well!!!

I am also into photography amateur.

I'm not here for stars score but coment with advice for improvement of my music.

at my coment on music of others, I remain honest. this must be mutual .

I give my voice just as public and not as someone who knows something from music.

Hi Griff:

Well about your playing... i don't think that i have any more adjectives to define your amazing sound... trully, i have no words, i could listen your playing for hours specially in these style of music, but also in some others you do.

It's cool, is a sound that has life in it, is not very common to hear that soul, that, life  in music.... when it happens is magical, and you my friend have that magic! A great, great respect for that.

About Harlem....well i have been there, i rent an apartment there and i stood there, is so nice, and to see those photos from the great years of Jazz and Swing, To see the magical places like Cotton Club or the Appolo, in your amazing collection of photos, just let a guy dreaming with those places and imagining how cool it sould have been those times....

All The best my friend

I have a dream...

Now it is real and we have to keep it, in the near because  2014.

Black or white. This is a package of history we have to tray.

Do you remember, how surprised Nelson was, when he got out of prison after so many years, how many white people came to the demonstrations to give him respect and thousands of peacefull wellcomes?

Millions by now.

Hang on - how did this gem from yu slip thorugh under my radar?  Beautifully done Griff.  Wonderful playing of a great song.  Absolutely no need for any clever mixing or effects.  Your sheer talent and the years of hard work do a job no amount of technological tinkering could match.  Sublime.

Ok...this is up my alley.  Love it...LOve it...LOVE IT!  This brings to mind Ray Charles and "Georgia On My Mind."

I embrace everything about this piece, the outstanding piano performance, the video, the feeling that just rises up from it.  Griff, what a gift and talent you have been blessed with.  I am honored to be able to listen to your music and be blessed by it.  You are tremendous!  In my favs this goes.
