I am having problems with burning home movies I am creating. What should my settings be?

When I burn a movie the first couple min., the audio and video dont seem to match. If I skip to the next chapter that I created its fine but not after awhile. When I watch it on the editor its fine or if I create a simple web quality video. I have tried slowing the playback time to see if it fixes it but no go. What should my settings be? DVD format

Hi

The DVD format should be that which matches your national TV standards ie one from this list - click the Encoder settings button on the DVD burn dialog and from the drop down list -

Try Standard DVD NTSC or PAL first.

Are the video clips on the timeline mpg files?

If so select them all and right click on one of the files video, then select Create frametable (new)

Then try burning the DVD again.

I agree 100% with John.  If you just use the default setting, you are likely getting PAL because Magix is a German product where PAL is the standard.  If you are in a NTSC region you need to change it when you burn.  You may also want to look at the frame rate that your camera records in and make the necessary adjustments at the project level.

Hi

. . . . It did not work, made it worse actually, haha . . .

I presume you mean creating new frametables ?

Is your MEP upto date with the latest patch?

It would also help if we knew which version of MEP you are using - my mistake I should have asked these first

If the videos are not mpg files then creating new frametable will do nothing or possibly make the situation worse if the files on the timeline are mp4s

Try this procedure:

    -   Export the movie using  File, Manage movies, Export

    -   Start a new project and delete the empty movie using File, Manage movies, Remove from project

    -   Add the previously exported movie to the new project using File, manage movies, Attach. . .

    -   Save the new project with a name different from the original project

    -   Try burning the DVD again

Tip: -

I use DVD-RW rewriteable discs for initial burns and testing - once I have the movie as I want it and a successful burn to DVD-RW, I then copy the DVD-RW disc to DVD-R.

Saves lots of money, if you a doing a lot of videos.
