Part 1 - Fades & Transitions in Movie Edit Pro

Part 1 of Fades and Transitions in Movie Edit Pro Plus/Premium and Video Pro X. I used Movie Edit Pro 2021. This shows the basics of transitions and fades, how to make them using the menu and manually, and some of the potential problems affecting other objects on the timeline. Watch this to get a good understanding as to what a transition is, before using templates that I'll show in Part 2. The same principles apply to Magix PhotoStory.

I have MAGIX Movie Edit Pro Plus - Version 20.0.1.80 (UDP3) UG code 8452 KA1

I believe this a 2021 version... I hadn't used it much.. the 2016 version was just fine for my limited needs, however, after producing a couple of simple movie slide shows, for some reason the program won't start (initialization file missing?) So I recalled purchasing this newer version in December of 2020 only used it limited in early 2021 because I had more command of the old version. Now I'm forced to use it to complete a project but ran into the problem where the features aren't fully operational and led into buying this mainconcept codec for $4.99.

so I did it and got this email back:

MPEG-4 FULL Codec Upgrade with an activation code....

Will this work with the 2021 program or is the whole thing oboslete and I was just scammed out of 5 bucks? I'm not getting access to the features after trying to update this codec.

Hi,

You should not be using or have to use the Main Concept CODEC. Some users do, but it is obsolete and also caused some problems in older versions.

I suggest that you post this on the forum and the gurus can reply. Include the actual version number that you'll find under Help, About.

browj2-

My friend, once again you have exceeded my expectations in your quality and attention to detail in your tutorials. You have been an absolute Godsend in covering some of the dicier tasks within the application. Now, I am certainly no stranger to linear editing, as I am a professional working SAG-AFTRA actor. I have to do quite a bit of video editing for my demo reels auditions, and independent film projects of my own.

However, I usually vary which program suite I am using between Vegas, Video Pro X, and Pinnacle Studio Pro. I'm afraid my creativity outshines my actual know-how with using the suites. So again..."THANK YOU!" I tip my hat to your skill, patience, and professionalism.

Cheers, Mate!

Hi,

Thank you very much for the nice compliments. I often wonder if my tutorials have helped users. I have to give a shout-out to John E. Baker for keeping me on the right track. His wisdom, invaluable assistance and reviews prior to publishing tutorials are most appreciated.

I started with Pinnacle Studio many years and switched to Magix video editors (I started with Magix Audio Cleaning Lab) when Pinnacle was taken over by Avid and it was not clear in which direction they were going to go. Now Corel has been taken over by Alludo and it looks like the end of the road for Pinnacle Studio, Video Studio and PaintShop Pro. The forums have been closed and the latter 2 products remain at 2023.

My best,

John CB
