Before attempting to uninstall older versions of Sony Creative Software, please note the following:
- All audio and video templates, as well as all custom user settings, will be deleted when you uninstall the software.
- Before beginning the uninstall process, disconnect all external USB and Firewire devices from your computer.
- Temporarily pause your antivirus software.
In Windows, go to "Start" > "Control Panel" > "Programs and Features" and uninstall the program.
When the uninstall procedure has finished, find and delete the following folders manually:
- C:\Program Files\Sony\
- C:\Program Files (x86)\Sony\
- C:\Program Files\Sony Setup\
The next step requires deleting one or more Windows registry keys.
Click the "Start" button, type "Regedit" in the search field and press ENTER. The Registry Editor will open.
Depending on the program you are using, you should be able to find one or more of the entries listed below. Delete all the Sony entries from the following registry sections:
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Sony Creative Software
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sony Creative Software
- HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Sony Creative Software
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Sony Creative Software
- Close the Registry Editor window.
- After uninstalling the software, download the product and install it again.
- When the installation has finished, restart your computer.
