This issue may occur in Movie Edit Pro (2018) version 17.0.2.158 if you have the feature "Hide news" enabled in the program settings. To fix this problem:
1. Open Videodeluxe.ini in a standard text editor such as Notepad.
This file can be found in the following folders:
Standard version
C:\Users\*Your_User_Name*\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Videodeluxe24\
Plus version
C:\Users\*Your_User_Name*\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Videodeluxe24_plus\
Premium version
C:\Users\*Your_User_Name*\AppData\Roaming\MAGIX\Videodeluxe24_premium\
If you do not see the folders listed above, turn on "Show hidden files and folders". To do this, open the Control Panel and change the view to "Small icons" in the upper right-hand corner. Now click on "Explorer Options", under "View" under "Hidden files and folders" find and activate the option "Show hidden files, folders and drives".
2. In Videodeluxe.ini, search for the following entries and remove them:
ItemCount=1
Item_0=949,1
Settings=0
LastUpdate=0
You should now be able to close Movie Edit Pro (2018) 17.0.2.158. "Hide news" will be disabled again in the program settings.
