To fix this problem, change the CodeMeter communication mode as follows:

  1. On the virtual machine, run regedit.exe to open the Windows Registry Editor.
  2. Locate HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WIBU-SYSTEMS\CodeMeter\Server\CurrentVersion
  3. Set "UseUmsDA" to 0.
  4. Restart the CodeMeter service or reboot your virtual machine.
