When you automate parameters such as volume or pan, the sliders for those parameters are adjusted automatically by the program. VEGAS Pro and ACID Pro provide three different automation modes. The information below describes the differences between each mode.

Automation Read
In this mode, the parameter slider follows the envelope. If the project contains an audio file, the automated slider will follow the volume envelope of the audio material during playback. In this mode, the slider cannot be adjusted manually.

Automation Write (Touch)
In this mode, the parameter slider edits the envelope live during playback. In other words, envelope points are added to the envelope as you adjust the slider. Existing envelope points are not overwritten; instead, new points are added to them.

Automation Write (Latch)
This mode works like Automation Write (Touch), but existing envelope points are overwritten as you adjust the slider.
