A Christmas song about growing up.

Lyrics, vocals, and arrangement by Ian Michalski.

Lyrics

You sit on Santa's lap in the department store

'cause mother said

You'll feel much better after you can judge him for yourself

So you stand in line with children

less behaved than you could ever get away with

to the point you start to doubt their mental health

And you just can't seem to get into the spirit now

Just confusion and anxiety inside

Is it possible that you have grown too old for this?

and a fantasy has finally up and died?

Yes, Virginia

The man you see before you isn't jolly in the least

He's rather scrawny and he smells like sweat and beer

And you try to tell the others that this santa is sham

but they all flock towards him as if they can't hear

You look over at your mother who looks quite concerned

and you tell her this tradition feels absurd

and you ask her if the whole things just a fairytale

and cautiously your mother mouths the words:

Yes, Virginia

Hello you two,it was a pleasure to listen to you again πŸ˜ƒ

Do you no longer believe in Santa Claus or the rattle stork that brings the children πŸ˜„

It's a nice white lie to see the children happy πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

A song undoubtedly made with a lot of compositional skill and with a text that arouses interest as it speaks of the breaking of conventions and habits that are not always logical – ciao da sandro

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA

Hello Ian & Arianna, This song reminds me of being a kid again when I found out that Santa was just a fantasy, but a lovely one it was, my friends! But you turned in into an interesting story with humor as well about the scrawny Santa Claus who smells of sweat and beer! You make the personal universal where we all can relate to that day when we found out Santa wasn't real, Ian. I love your voice where I can hear every word and the emotion in your voice! Great talent indeed on display here once again, and I really enjoyed your song, my friends! VME! CBW 10,000 Suns! πŸ’―πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘
