With a new GoPro Hero 5 barely out of the box and without even a full charge, it’s off to the woodlands under Wooler Knoll, Peak District for a solo over-nighter.
Hoping to catch the full moon, but unfortunately it was pretty cloudy for the most part.. However this was my first Tarp & Hammock camp so much of the darkness was contending with how to set that up without any prior practice with tarps and hammocks - let alone the knots!
And then a quick look at the time-lapse settings in the GoPro and without further ado it was literally pot luck - as can be seen by the results... Oh Well practice makes perfect.
I didn’t get much chance to film anything else with limited battery life. It's too early for me to comment on the Hero 5 but certainly an improvement on the basic version I had.
I’ll be back here for another attempt with battery backup and another camera to complete a full video.
Whilst a short video I’m also just airing out a new music track which is yet to be completed. Not sure yet which way it will go but original thinking was for a Lud's Church adventure I hope to do soon. Produced using AKAI MPK Keyboard & Synth.
As for the forest camp I really enjoyed the solo under the moonlight and I love the creepiness. The very last part at the video is a black & white looking clip which was actually shot at midnight - so you can see the brightness of the moon.
Looking to forward to improved videos and Bushcraft skills. inspired by fellow YouTubers.
