An abusive boyfriend contemplates his fate.

Lyrics, vocals, and arrangement by Ian Michalski.

LYRICS

Here I lye tonight

It’s just what I deserve

A slave to this shallow grave

Cause anger snapped your nerves

You’re entertaining guests who think you haven’t heard from me

for seven days and seven nights of tea and sympathy

And of course they all are on your side

They don’t know your mean old boyfriend died

But here I am in case they ever care to see

The other side of you that is the murderer of me

I might have been surprised

It might have shocked me dead

If I had known you’d bury that old axe inside my head

And now I'm tucked away I guess it’s just as well

my body's in your garden and my souls deep down in hell

If I had known that you would put me down

I would have never been slapping you around

But here I am and sorry as a corpse can be

The other side of you became the murderer of me

And now you’re with your friends just getting tea and sympathy

SUPER !!! - ciao da sandro

Sandro Glavina is an italian composer, named L'Uomo e L'Ombra. The choice of the name derives from the title of the album "L'uomo e l'ombra" of the band "Abstract Music Nuova Esistenza", an experimental group founded by Sandro Glavina together with his friends in the mid-70s.

In the period 2009-2022, L'Uomo e L'Ombra has done 84 albums. The compositions of Sandro Glavina are partly influenced by progressive rock. Sandro has developed a personal style with many experimentations and actualizations. He offers music beyond borders by intertwining different styles in crossover with each other. Prog, psychedelia, classical, post-rock, jazz, pop are some of the influences that dissolve in ambient atmospheres, citations of contemporary music and minimalist nuances. Sandro Glavina aka L'Uomo e L'Ombra plays the music using VSTI synthesizers, keyboards and adds some loops. Sandro isn't a professional musician, composes and plays music just for fun, but his works reach a good outcome, pleasant to listen. L'UOMO E L'OMBRA

Ian and Arianna, What an amazing story that reminds me of great Broadway songwriting, my friends! There is such an irony because he didn't expect his lady to murder him! More than likely it was in self-defense, but you could say indeed he got what he deserved! I have never heard of a unique theme like this, but that is the genius of both of you! You both amazingly complement each other! The lyrics; the music; your instruments; your amazing voice, Ian! This song in my musical book is one of your very best songs! This shows a maturity in songwriting that very few achieve in all frankness! A superb song, and very well written! One of the great lines is "The other side of you became the murderer of me." What a brilliant and unique line! It's catchy and utterly amazing in all honesty, my friends! Pure genius here! Very Much Enjoy! Clay Brian Wilson 10,000 Suns! And Tea and Sympathy is the perfect title for your song! 💯👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 P.S. My friends I just read the lyrics to my wife Becky and she said it reminded her of Edgar Allen Poe; maybe in the way I recited it and the tale. I'm sure Becky will listen in soon. I came up with the last line in the 3rd chorus of "The Mirror of Joy II" that goes "Then Sue and Drake said, "I do." It personalizes the characters in that story. All the very best to you, folks, and please be well and safe, Ian and Arianna. God bless you both! Almost reminds us of a western, Ian and Arianna. I've thought more about your lyric today, and it strikes me that since we don't know exactly what he did to her but we know he was abusive she may be more of a villain than he is. It goes to show that with her getting all the tea and sympathy her friends just don't know that she may be more of a villain than him. I think the fact that you both left this to the imagination makes it stir in the mind that much more and therefore makes your story more compelling with some mystery. I am bowled over by it; one of your best indeed, my friends!!! Becky has heard your song and says it reminds her of a show tune and almost as I said earlier of a western song. She really appreciates your songwriting, my friends!
