As the name implies, this is the 5th of 20 parts of the movie I'm doing. The key was to set the mood by first reading the book (same title by Herman Wouk) to know about the characters. Iris Tramm (AKA Janet West) has been on Kinja for many years. She keeps her past secreted away with a drink and a smoke-she was a rising film star. She has kad a lonely exitence until Norman Paperman came around.
Technique. Simple. I did edit the B/W stills in Photoshop. Note the significant things in Iris's life are in color-her dog, her whiskey, cigarettes and now Norman. Went through several old film clips until I found what I thought were the right ones. The other effects you know about-"ghosting", superimposing video clips, etc. Really the key was understanding Iris and her life so as to come up with the right mood for the video.
Any comments are welcome. Let me know if you want me to post the clips as I develop them.
