I make glass beads (also called lampwork),using long rods of glass and a torch with a flame that burns at 2500 degrees.  A mixture of propane and oxygen produces the flame and by adding or reducing the amount of oxygen sent to the torch, different qualities or colors are the result.  Different types and/or colors of glass react in different ways and sometimes you never know what you will see when the kiln opened!

This picture is a closeup of a bead I made and the webbing effect of the ivory glass on the right side is the result of a reduction in oxygen.

Hi Trish,

Multi talented!

Intriguing creation, reminds me of one of those National Geographic satellite pictures taken of a shoreline with cloud cover over the land area.

Very cool that you create audio gems and now - visual gems.

Love it!

Cheers,

Stu

Hi Trishie:

Now, the world knows that you have conquered two fronts: the world of jewelry design, and the world of music.  I've had the privilege of seeing some of your creative jewelry on a few previous occasions, but this?  On first gander, I didn't know WTF I was looking at, but after reading your description, I breathed a sigh of relief... <lol>

About the photo... splendid close up.  Have you thought about taking up photography as one of your many personas?

wow, so cool. its very organic and could be a close up of a number og creatures in our animal kingdom (insect wise that is). I'm guessing you used a macro lense for this close up detail.

cheers

This is a special picture! Without your explanation I wouldn't know what I see here. The right side looks like flesh - but it is glass! Very interesting! *****

I think you well know, in Italy is precisely in Murano, there are masters in the world's glass, but I'll tell you that I personally know a few in the area called "Brianza" in the region in which I live The Lombardy.
Well I have personally seen how they do certain jobs and the difficulty that there is to do
these glass jewelry.
In all honesty I do not know how you've learned to do these jobs, but I see that you get on.
Trish loved you, you know how much I appreciate every kind of art, for which I congratulate you and I encourage you to continue, but with the recommendation not to forget the music, which in your life has given so much, but that much in unto us of the comunity

Hi Trish,
this photo is spectacular, you are a person with a thousand resources, and everything you do you do it right, I think it is not easy to make glass beads.
Good.

So by making glass beads and taking pictures of such details you are "producing" even more art...

...because if you have these images printed out and put within a fitting frame...

...they would be looking real great on a wall.

It's weird but I'm digging it! Please do more of these. Maybe you could even use one as the picture for one of your compositions, if it conveys the right feeling.

Interesting, but an old and well known technique...
it became really interesting when you look on the specially "cut out" of the whole picture...
You can learn a lot about the "author" of the cut out...
a MOC (Member Of Community), coming from the City of "Sigmund"...

I really hate to write a comment on my own photo but I have to question what Frantzi is saying.

Very good picture, good art, as mentioned before was unknown to me, but I appreciate these images that offer a sense, thanks for sharing your art.

Do not worry about this particular character Frantzi, he used to do that, a man out of place, that's all.

Dear Trish, I hate to comment comments...
I wrote you about how I ment my comment down below...
I can´t comment Bendizus comment...

Cool Pic Trish.  I didn't know you did this.  Wow, the things you find out about people when you've been away for a bit.    I'd like to see the different beads you've created.  I'm an artist as well, so it really peaks my interest when I see something cool like this.
