@John-Peacock

Hi and welcome to the forum

. . . . Browser says site is not secure . . . .

I assume this is Chrome saying your http:// web address is insecure - you can disable the 'Site not secure' warnings in Chrome which is enabled by default.

Using the https:// protocol is only necessary for sites that have user logins, online shop etc.

Yes John it is a Chrome Browser. Thanks for that. I realised that the reason I could not see any results was nothing to do with security settings but due to fact that I had inadvertently loaded a blank page as my index. How 'dumb' is that 😂

Hi there. My browser is MS Edge. When I looked at my site, it says the same as above, not secure. So, should I disable that on my Edge browser? Thank you! Robin Gaynor

@Robin-Gaynor

Hi

. . . . So, should I disable that on my Edge browser? . . . .

Yes.

The HTTPS protocol is only necessary for sites that require secure communication between the browser and the web server for features such as user login, online shop*, and other functions such as banking.

* If you have an online shop using the Ecwid online shop widget this is an embedded site and does use https. The setting in Edge does not affect this and it stays secure.
