i loaded program on new pc but lost all associated index files. can i get them back somehow?

If the old PC did not die of hard drive failure then you can take the hard drive out of the old PC and temporarily connect it to the new PC and copy the project folder and files to the new PC.
If the old hard drive failed then you will have to download the entire website and import this into Website Designer.
If your new PC is running Windows 8 then Website Designer 6 may not be compatible, if so you will need to upgrade your Web Designer to the latest version (9).

. . . . thanks for your response to my question about retrieving my existing web page data due to pc crash. it was the hard drive that crashed. lost everything. now a believer in off site backups. i can see all the data when i login on the magix site under Hosting, webFTP but downlaod function doesnt appear to work properly. i have windows 7 on new pc. any thoughts? thanks . . . .
Try using Filezilla client to download the entire website - you should be able to get the settings from hosting help.
