i keep getting a message pop up saying the windows sound mapper cannot read this format because a device ID in range of you syste. what does that ean?? what can i do? i need help bad im running windows vista hoe edition

What kind of sound card do you have?
Does this happen all the time or during the use of a Magix product?
The first thing I'd try is to download the latest driver from the manufacturer and then remove the sound card from the device manager then install the new driver.

If you got a new hard drive installed with Vista on it... you will still need to tell it what hardware drivers it needs - it may not find all by default.

Do you have sound during normal operation? When you install a hard drive with Vista pre-installed it's in a new environment with all new hardware and it may not have proper drivers for the sound.
