I suspect what you are seeing is the 'advertising' popup suggesting upgrading to the latest version.

If so, uninstall, if you do not use it, the program called Magix Cloud Import, also known as Update Notifier, Magix Connect, Magix Network Sync.

What is the version number of your Web Designer as found under Help, About .... ?

If you mean you have no access to the online Content catalogue, then it is most likley that your Subscription service has expired, you can check this at Magix website, magix.com, by logging in, Account icon top right of the home page, and select My products.

This could also be why the program is not updating, however you should have been receiving emails informing you your subscription was about to expire and pop-up message also saying you do not have a valid subscription.

As I asked above, what is the version number of your Web Designer as found under Help, About .... ?

It also says I can

Create activation code
Create an activation code for one of your registered products but it is asking for "computer ID" not sure what that is so I can not go any further

@Crystal-Hall You can only create activation codes for very old Magix software. P3-serial numbers can only be activated in the program while being online.

Unfortunately we are going round in circles as a relevant piece of information, I asked for, has not been provided ie the version number of the program as found under Help, About ..... - the dialog should have the number shown similar to this which is another Xara product, that is part of Designer Pro.

Thanks for the version number, having a current Update Service, this is puzzling.

Do you have access the Online Catalogue now?

If not are you getting any error messages?

I had an error earlier today when online access to the Content Catalogue was not available - I had a 504 error message.

Similarly if you select Check for updates option under Help , is this now working either giving you the option for an update or No updates were found message - this too was offline earlier.

Hi,

Since your Update Service is active, you can get version 19. It does not happen from within the program; it's manual. You simply download the trial version and activate it with your serial number for Xara - the same one that is in your account (for v18). Then, there may be a patch to update to.

Xara v18 will not be removed from your computer, so be careful which version you open. You'll have icons for both versions.

Hi,

You have to open the version 19 and put in your serial number to activate it. Use the same serial number as for 18 - you only get one serial number in your account when you have an active Update Service.

I told you that you will have both versions on your computer so you have open the correct one, the one called "Xara Designer Pro X(19)."

Hi,

You mentioned two problems. Installing v19 and the OCC (Online Catalog Content).

  1. Have you succeeded in getting v19 installed and opened?
  2. The OCC problem is well-known and annoying. It's a time-out error. Just keep trying. If it doesn't come up quickly, close the screen and try again. I use Ctrl+Alt+Shift+K and sometimes it takes 4 or 5 tries, sometimes as many as a dozen. I just got in on my second try. I suggest raising a ticket with Magix. I and others have, but the problem remains.

I told you to install the trial version of 19 and activate it using the same serial number. If you want version 19, that is the only way to get it. It will not uninstall version 18. Please do so and please read what I wrote.

Hello John - yes you told me to install the trial version - I did this -but as I mentioned above it will not install

My solution: I am going to uninstall xara pro on the weekend when I am not working

Please let me know if this is a good solution

I can find no mention in your previous posts that you have done as @browj2 advised, and downloaded and installed the trial version of Designer Pro 19 from the link on this page.

From what you say you have been trying to update from within XDP 18 and that process is failing. Hence the suggestion to separately download and install the trial of XDP 19.

I do not think that uninstalling XDP 18 will have any effect on this problem! I doubt very much whether it is version 18 that is preventing the installation of version 19. In fact, the presence of version 18 on your computer when you install version 19 is likely to make the process of verification of this new version very much easier.
