why does midi keyboard drops while recording?

when i record object using midi keybord it starts recording but then stops on the way.....cant record more than three minutes. in onother words ..when i paste object of drums in a track lets say 5 minutes and then i record strings using midi keyboard .....strings will be recorded for 2 minutes a nd then drops

Is this on a laptop, tablet or PC ?

Is it the recording that stops or the midi keyboard stops responding?

Assuming the midi keyboard is connected by USB and after the 2 mins it just stops responding, check the Windows power management settings for the USB ports - if it can make them hibernate/power down then this may be the issue.

If none of the above please give more details of exactly what happens.
