Why are my audio recordings (Vocals) off sync with my imported files (beats)

Ok It seems I did exactly what I didnt want to do. A few days ago I purchesed Magix Music Maker 16 to go with my new dell XP. I was in dire need of a upgraded/newer recording software . Ive been useing Magix Studio 5 for years now. although it did exactly what I needed it to the effects and everything were getting outdated and stale. So I went the familer name and overall affordable price. Now I realized that this software was more geared towards compseing/createing music on your pc Not for recording audio and mastering

:(...Although this fuction is available (recording audio) Everytime I playback a recording my vocals are off sync...To explain what I do and want is easy...I simply take a beat from my computer/files and import it to magix and then I record vocals over it and master/eq everything together...Is there a way magix music maker 16 can be used as a recorder/editor instead of a remix tool/beat creater? thank you...

Hi,

I guess Samplitude is more accurate for your need. You can use AUDACITY (freeware). But MMM 16 can be use for recording...

Have a look to this post : http://www.magix.info/fr/why-have-you-difficulties-with-audio-recording-in-mmm.knowledge.272281.html

Yea I got the same problem as you with adding audio tracks and recording vocal over them the vocal gets out of sync.   the links below didn't help solve the issue.

First of all make sure you have the newest version of audacity. The new version, 1.3.12 Beta, works better and has more features. You can download it free at this link: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/. Once you have the newest version try this: Go to Edit-> Preferences-> Devices and select the same device for both playback and recording. (Example: If the playback device is Microsoft Sound Mapper output, the recording device should be Microsoft Sound Mapper input). If the devices are not the same, the clocks on them will not match. This causes the imported and recorded tracks to be off sync.

If the suggestion above did not help, then your drivers may be out of date. This is very common with windows sound drivers. To fix this select Windows Update in the start menu. You should be able to select which drivers you would like to update, but it is best to update them all.

I was having the same problem with audacity for a while. I was glad to finally fix it. Hope this helped.
