Unless you explain further your question it is difficult to answer.

Own recording could be just using software and composing music or using external sources for recording such as, Mic for vocals, Guitar, Drum, Keyboard etc.

In Music Maker we can connect Mic, Guitar, Drum, Keyboard etc but need some settings and it will record only one track at a time and a adding any effects or editing will be after recording.

Please note Music Maker (you did not mention the version) is not a DAW (Digital audio work station). For professional recording there is another product by Magix that is called Samplitude.
