a top to bottom or bottom to top pan yields a black space either top or bottom of the panned image, but is not contained in the image. I have tried altering size and position of the image to no avail. It is like there is a background that is higher than the image.
Example: in a 1920 x 1080 movie setting, an image that is 1920 x 5273 fills the width of the movie, but the height panned in the movie is more than the height of the image. I have tried making the image a multiple of 1080 as a "stab in the dark" but it makes no difference.
