the File format of

(an AVI file from a home made movie I made from my digital camera)

cannot be opened by MAGIX Edit Pro 14

Please make sure that the drive is not full or write-protected.

if you do not have the authorization to write or read from this path, please contact administrator.

I made this movie with a video cam and bought this software to edit these movies. Now I seem to have no real clue to how to do this OR the software is useless to me.

Any help would be appreciated.

To help you, it is required more than data (operation system, configuration your PC). But the general recommendations are that: important that on your hard disk there was enough empty seat (at least twice more size of your file). You should have rights of the Administrator of your PC (It to concern both to Windows XP and to Windows Vista).

can you right click in your dvd drive and explore the disk and just extract the movies that way. or you could get a analog to usb link ,just play your videos off your camera and capture them with magix. You can get a capture device from almost any retail store these days kmart, target, etc or just go to newegg.com.
