when i record, it only works for Right earphone and not so much left. using audio interface

Former user wrote on 6/27/2011, 7:32 PM

when i push record and the dialogue box pops up.  i only see the R bar going up and down (as it recieves louder and softer noises respectively).  the L bar (left) remains completely blank.  when i play back what i've recorded, i hear more sound in the right earphone than the left.

I'm using an audio interface, "m-audio fast track",  from "pro tools"

using music maker 17

Also, i just discovered that if i use the microphone plug (on the audio interface), it only records the left, and not the right (completely opposite to how the guitar records).

maybe this isn't such a problem?  maybe i can change the pan, left right earphone stuff after i record.

thanks

Hi,

Normal : you have only one microphone, you are recording by default in STEREO MODE, and by default only left side is recorded.

Click to "advanced" and select MONO. But MMM doesn't record in real MONO. Have a look to :

CBY TLSE did a good job answering, but if you want a simple solution then when you are finished the recording there is a setting you can use to change your recording-if it only comes in on one side-into a stereo set.

First do your recording. Then when you are finished right click on the recording. And then click "Stereo Prcessor" (Shift+P) this allows you to change it into stereo format so that you don't have to compensate by panning in the mixer.

Hope this helps. Let me know if it does :)

Happy Recording.
