when I load a movie, it doesn't play on the sample screen. It stays black, it will play the sounds but not the video

I have the family movie creator, we just purchased it, We can not get it to function properly. I tried to open a video that I had made from my digital camera and it loaded into the program with no problem, but it will not load onto the sample screen. The music is fine, everything else is fine, but no image.

We would really need more information to try to help you here - What file type is the video? If it's AVI, what codec is used?
