Possibly your audio is messed up in playback settings.
you may have it set to high/low for your speakers.
please clarify your problem a little more

ok, click settings or just press "y" on your keyboard
Program settings appear
select the tab "Playback".
Under Audio playback,(driver selection) select direct sound.
Under that (Output device) select from the drop down menu,
.
If your settings are not the folowing change this... your multi track size to 8192
and your preveiw size to 4096
If there is further problems, answer this,
When you drag a movie into the time line, does it take up two tracks (one for video, one for audio) or just one. if just one then tell me and there is a different way to fix it.        GOOD LUCK!                                                 -Chip Comando
